Comparative analysis of graphite electrode consumption


The consumption level of graphite electrode is basically balanced when the process and operation status of smelting arc furnace change little in a certain period. It is normal that the consumption of electrodes fluctuates with the prolongation of furnace life or the change of process. Then, in the same electric arc furnace on the same product, its consumption fluctuation is very important to the user; this objection has been a common phenomenon. The quality of any kind of product has fluctuation, but the amplitude of fluctuation reflects the technical equipment level and comprehensive management level of the manufacturer.


Further analysis of graphite electrode fracture in smelting


Occasional electrode breakage is a normal phenomenon and inevitable in electric arc furnace smelting, while electrodes in large DC, AC and LF electric furnaces are regarded as accidents. The treatment of broken electrode residue is the hardest work in operation, and the result is inevitably high consumption, longer smelting cycle, lower output and higher cost. Domestic general technical level of AC furnaces, 5~7 times a month broken electrode is normal, advanced large DC and AC furnaces are mostly equipped with control network system, greatly reducing the human factors, less than 2 times a month broken electrode; advanced large LF furnace basically does not allow electrode breakage phenomenon. The causes of electrode breakage in electric furnace smelting operation are quite complex.
